The trial for one of the three people involved in the 2018 death of a 7-year-old Newton boy has been postponed indefinitely.
51-year-old Timothy Hauschultz is facing charges related to the death of his 7-year-old great-nephew Ethan Hauschultz, while Damian Hauschultz and Tina McKeever-Hauschultz have already been convicted in the case.
Damian was scheduled to testify in Timothy’s case, but since he is currently going through the appeals process, he invoked his 5th Amendment rights, and will not testify until that process is complete.
Timothy’s defense attorney proposed the idea of Damian’s testimony not being admissible in other proceedings, but that was rejected by District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre.
Timothy remains in the Manitowoc County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond, where he has resided since February of 2019.
