The contest at the Kohl Center was part of the 2021 Gavitt Games, a tournament pitting Big Ten teams against teams from the Big East.
Senior guard Brad Davison led the Badgers with 25 points and seven rebounds.
Tyler Wahl added 16, but the team’s late rally came up short.
Wisconsin missed sophomore Johnny Davis who was sidelined with a lower-body injury.
The next action for Wisconsin will be next Monday afternoon in the Maui Invitational.
The Badgers will take on Texas A&M in a first-round game played in Las Vegas.
