Alliant Energy is now the owner of the solar power project planned for the Town of Holland.
The Sheboygan County-based energy company acquired ownership of the project from Chicago-based Ranger Power and D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments in a deal announced on Wednesday.
The 150-megawatt solar electric generating facility will be built on 1,900 acres of land on both sides of County Highways GW and A between Highway G and Dekker Road in the town of Holland.
Construction is expected to begin next spring and should be completed by the Fall of 2023.
The plant is expected to generate enough power to take care of roughly 40,000 homes.
