In these days of launch angles and hi-tech tools, the Brewers say the role of the hitting coach is much more complex.
That’s why they’ve named co-hitting coaches to replace Andy Haines.
President of Baseball Operations David Stearns announced 51-year-old Ozzie Timmons and 28-year-old Connor Dawson will share the position in the 2022 Major League Baseball season.
Stearns says a third staff member will be named soon.
Timmons comes to Milwaukee from Tampa Bay and Dawson was minor-league hitting coordinator for the Seattle Mariners.
The Brewers finished 12th among 30 teams with 738 runs scored last year, but they were 18th in homers and 23rd in slugging percentage.
