Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes and manager Craig Counsell have been named as finalists for two Major League Baseball postseason awards.
Burnes is one of three pitchers still in the running for the 2021 Cy Young Award for the National League.
Zack Wheeler of the Phillies and Max Scherzer of the Dodgers are the other two.
It’s been nearly four decades since a Brewer won that honor – Pete Vukovich in 1982.
Counsell is one of three finalists for National League Manager of the Year.
The Brewers showed a big improvement over last year while winning 95 games and the N-L Central Division title.
Giants manager Gabe Kapler and former Cardinals manager Mike Shildt are the other finalists.
