Manitowoc Police responded to a domestic violence situation over the weekend only to find a bloody scene.
Officers were sent to the area of North 7th and Huron Streets at around 4:00 Sunday afternoon for a 911 hang-up, where they made contact with a man involved in the incident.
The man escorted the officers to the location of the physical altercation, and officers entered the residence with Tasers drawn.
There was blood spatter and two individuals in the residence, who both were cooperative with police.
One man told officers that he went to the home to talk with a female resident, but the occupants wouldn’t let him in.
This led to a physical altercation between the two men, with one of them strangling the other.
Both men sustained injuries in the incident, but it was determined that the man that came to the residence was the aggressor.
He was charged with Battery with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, Strangulation and Suffocation, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
