Dane County Judge Jacob Frost rejected a petition from lawyers representing Edgewood High School last Friday.
The school was seeking a temporary restraining order that would have allowed the Crusaders to play in the Wisconsin State High School football playoffs last weekend.
Frost says he didn’t rule in the school’s favor because he expected a request for a declaratory judgment would fail.
The judge says he also couldn’t see how Edgewood could prove the W-I-A-A’s actions were arbitrary and capricious.
The Crusaders were undefeated this season but has forfeited all of the victories for using an ineligible player.
