The trial of 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse began with opening arguments by the prosecution today (Tuesday) in Kenosha.
Prosecutors told the jury that hundreds of people came to Kenosha that week to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake and the evidence will show that the only person who killed anyone is the defendant.
Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger said Rittenhouse fired an AR-15 style weapon eight times, killing 36-year-old Josh Rosenbaum and 26-year-old Anthony Huber and wounding Gage Grosskreutz.
Binger emphasized that Rosenbaum was fatally shot in the back.
Defense attorneys have claimed that Rittenhouse acted in self-defense and only fired to protect himself.
