Marquette’s Hope Werch has set a Golden Eagles program record for service aces.
With three in her team’s weekend sweep of Providence the graduate student tied the 33-year-old record of 177 in the second set, then broke the mark in the final set.
Werch says the banner was put up about the record a couple of weeks ago.
She says she really wanted “to do it at home.”
Werch also had nine kills on 19 errorless swings as Marquette rebounded from a loss to Creighton.
