A 17-year-old Green Bay male has been charged in the October 5th attack of a woman on the East River Trail in De Pere.
Miles Jimmy Cruz has been charged with Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide, First-Degree Sexual Assault Causing Great Bodily Harm, and three other felonies.
Details of the attack have also been released.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim was walking on the trail with her four-week-old baby, when her attacker, Cruz, wrapped a sweatshirt around her head and pulled her backward.
She fought back, reportedly hooking her finger into his mouth, scratching his face, and screaming in hopes someone would hear her.
Cruz also allegedly wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck, causing her to pass out.
Cruz, a runaway, was questioned by police, and despite his claims of innocence, he was arrested.
No motive for the attack has been released at this time.
