A 39-year-old Manitowoc woman has been arrested on child abuse charges.
The Manitowoc Police Department got involved when a victim was interviewed by a Child Advocate.
The victim told the interviewer that the abuse stretched from 2018 through this year, where they lost nearly 20 pounds due to a lack of food and water.
The victim said that the suspect forced them to kneel on rice or nuts for hours or even days at a time, all without any clothing covering their knees.
The woman also reportedly taped the child’s hands together at night.
Medical documents were taken as evidence, as the suspect denied any wrongdoing.
She is facing charges of Child Neglect, and Repeated Acts of Child Neglect.
