Prepare your tastebuds, because flavors from all over the world are coming to Roncalli Catholic Schools.
After taking a year off last year due to COVID, the local school group will host the International Food Fair on November 6th at Roncalli High School.
We spoke with Candice Giesen, the Director of Development at Roncalli Catholic Schools, who explained that in the gym, they will have dishes from all over the world available to try.
”We have an Asian booth, we have Mediterranean, French, Italian, German, Mexican, and Irish,” Giesen explained. “It will be quite the variety for people to taste.”
However, at Roncalli, dessert comes first.
There will be two tables filled with international sweets prior to entering the gym.
“You will find things from gourmet brownies to truffles, to cherry cupcakes, to cannolis,” Giesen said.
These desserts are being made by a combination of local bakeries and school families.
While the food is the main star, and Giesen is very excited to try it all, she said she is more excited about how local restaurants have stepped up to make the Fair happen.
“I can’t tell you how they stepped up,” Geisen said. “Which is wonderful, seeing that we were gone for a year, and with all the things that have been going on.”
There is no cost to enter, but you will have to buy a punch card in order to try the available food options.
Payment is being accepted via cash, check, card, or new this year, by Venmo virtual payment.
You can preregister by visiting RCSFoodFair.GiveSmart.com to avoid the lines.
The doors will open at 5:00 PM, with a cash raffle drawing taking place at 8:00 PM, and art from all of the classrooms at the Roncalli Schools will be up for display.
