The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) have all voiced their support of a bill written by Senator Andre Jacque.
Under Assembly Bill 245, a veteran’s service-connected disability rating to be eligible for the Disabled Veterans and Surviving Spouses Property Tax Credit is reduced from 100% down to 70%.
The American Legion, DAV, and VFW stated in a news release that the passage of this bill into law will honor veterans and their sacrifice by “reducing the fiscal barrier which prevents many disabled veterans from owning a home in which to raise a family, or it will assist them or their surviving spouses in keeping their homes.”
Sen. Jacque called the bill a “common-sense way to better meet our ongoing commitment to those who have sacrificed and suffered hardship for our freedom.”
