A woman accused of causing the attack on a Wisconsin state senator last year has been found not guilty by a Dane County jury.
Kerida O’Reilly was facing a felony charge of substantial battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
The incident outside the Wisconsin Capitol left state Senator Tim Carpenter with a broken nose and a concussion, plus several cuts and bruises.
Carpenter told the court he didn’t believe O’Reilly hit him after other protesters closed in.
O’Reilly and co-defendant Samanta Hamer say they were only trying to get the Democratic lawmaker to quit filming the Black Lives Matter protesters.
