It will be another two months before an Oshkosh woman in a murder-for-hire case is in court for her bail hearing.
Melissa Smith was scheduled to have her bail hearing yesterday (October 18th), but an adjournment was requested, with the new court date now on December 21st.
Smith had reportedly wanted to have an unnamed individual killed because they had stolen her gun and told police she was selling drugs.
The person she contacted to carry out the attack instead went to the police.
Smith told the would-be assassin that she wanted to take money from the victim’s home so she could flee to the Dominican Republic.
Smith remains in the Brown County Jail, with her bond previously set at $1 million.
