A 17-year-old teen has been charged in two vehicle theft cases.
An Officer with the Manitowoc Police Department was operating his radar gun at the intersection of South 15th and Dewey Streets just after midnight on Friday (October 15th) when he clocked a vehicle traveling at 57 MPH in the 25 MPH zone.
When the officer attempted to pull over the speeding vehicle, the driver continued at a high rate of speed.
The officer took chase, which ended when the vehicle crashed into the front yard of a home in the 1200 block of Flambeau Street.
The driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers later located the suspect, who admitted to stealing the vehicle he was driving, as well as another vehicle that was taken from a home in the 2100 block of South 17th Street.
The teen has been charged with Eluding or Fleeing, Possession of THC, and two counts of Operating a Vehicle Without the Owners Consent.
