Sheboygan County is going solar.
Ground was broken on a solar energy farm in Sheboygan last week, which will stand on the Sheboygan Senior Community’s 38 acres of land on County Highway Y in the Town of Sheboygan.
The farm is a partnership between the Sheboygan Senior Community, Legacy Solar Co-Op, Arch Electric of Plymouth, and the Clean Energy Program of Lakeshore Technical College.
Over $242,000 was given to the project from the Wisconsin Office of Energy Innovation, and another $25,000 came from a grant from Solar for Good.
The farm will supply 25% of the power for the Sheboygan Senior Community.
