The trial for a murder case in Door County has once again been delayed.
Richard Pierce has been charged in the 1975 death of his wife Carol Jean Pierce, in 2018, and his trial was supposed to take place last year.
However, due to COVID, the trial was delayed by a year, and again because his lawyer died of cancer.
Pierce’s team requested an adjournment of his trial which was granted.
The new trial date is in April, with the jury being selected at the end of March.
Pierce was released on bond after he suffered some medical issues and has been living in Michigan.
