Commercial Construction activity in the city of Manitowoc is running far ahead of 2020 through the first nine months of this year.
According to permits obtained through the Department of Building Inspection, the year-to-date figure is $72,552,000. That is approximately $30 million above last year’s $42.5 million.
A breakdown of top commercial and multi-family projects finds the 160,000 square-foot Ammo Inc. plant being built in the I-43 Industrial Park at the top of the list with a construction value of $12.2 million dollars, followed closely by- the River Point 87-Unit Apartment Complex at nearly $11.7 million.
The remainder of the top-5 projects in the city so far in 2021 has the new Dramm Corporation plant at 84,000 square feet and valued at just over $4-million dollars, the Bank First Operations Center at slightly over 13,000 square feet and $3.7-million and then Redline Plastics with an addition of more than 103,000 square feet and its $3.3 million dollar price tag.
Meanwhile, Bank First has a ground breaking ceremony for its building at Dufek and West Drive (near Menard’s) at 9:00 AM Friday (tomorrow) morning.
