
University of Wisconsin-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank says her goal always was to leave the school strong than when she came.
She says she believes that was achieved over the last eight years.
Blank is leaving Madison to become president of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
A news release from U-W described her tenure as being focused on the student experience and elevating its stature as a world-class university while securing its financial footing.
Blank is an internationally known economist who served in the Obama administration.
She is a former Northwestern faculty member.
