The Wisconsin men’s hockey team lost a lot of firepower in the off-season.
That’s a big factor in the Badgers being swept by Michigan Tech on the home ice over the weekend.
Tech built a five-goal lead just three minutes into the second period Saturday, then went on to a 5-1 victory.
Senior forward Dominick Mersch scored at 3:11 in the final period to avoid the shutout.
Wisconsin was out-shot 28-22.
The Badgers stay at home for a series against Army starting Friday at 7:00 p-m at the Kohl Center.
