
A local Legislator says he plans to lead a Senate Human Services Committee by phone next week.
First District State Senator Andre Jacque who serves Northern Manitowoc County including Two Rivers and Mishicot in his constituency is using a walker to get around after a five-week battle with COVID-19, Jacque was diagnosed in early August then hospitalized and put on a ventilator.
After leaving the hospital, the De Pere Republican checked into a rehabilitation center to regain his strength and breathing capabilities. He made his first public comments to the Associated Press recently since contracting COVID-19 saying āIām getting around with a walker but making steady progress and my breathing is almost all the way back.ā
The Human Services Committee plans to meet next Thursday. No word on when Jacque plans to return to the Capitol in Madison.
