Corbin Burnes led the National League with an earned run average of 2.43, compiled a won-loss record of 11-5, and averaged 12.6 strikeouts every nine innings.
In a game where a 2 to 1 strikeouts-to-walks radio is acceptable and 3 to 1 is good, the Brewers standout right-hander averaged nearly 7 strikeouts for every walk this season.
Burnes is set to start tonight’s (Friday’s) opening game of the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves.
It’s the fourth time in the last four years Milwaukee has qualified for the post-season, but the team never had a pitching staff like the one it has this year.
The first pitch at American Family Field is set for 3:37 PM and will be aired on 107.9 FM WOMT.
