Badgers basketball head coach Greg Gard is spending early practices getting to know his players. Gard met with the media Tuesday by Zoom.
Practice started last Thursday.
He says he hadn’t met freshman forward Markus Ilver, center Christ Vogt or point guard Jahcobi Neath until they arrived on the Madison campus last summer.
Gard says Ilver’s international experience will give him an edge.
He also predicts that sophomore forward Jonathan Davis will be a “marquee guy” for the Badgers after building his confidence while playing with U-S-A Basketball.
Right now, the coach says his players are building team chemistry by hanging out in their apartments and running around together on the campus.
