Officials at Indian Trail High School and Academy in Kenosha are blaming a false active shooter alert on a “device malfunction.”
Students at that school say an errant Frisbee caused the problem.
They say the Frisbee was thrown in the school gymnasium and when it hit a sensor the automatic alarm system was triggered.
Doors were barricaded and classrooms evacuated in response.
One student says the announcement said there was a shooter in the gym – and he was in the gym at the time.
Kenosha police responded and swept the building.
Shortly after 11:00 am, the all-clear was given.
