Lakeshore Foster Families and Friends is launching a Graduation & Independence program to assist teens (grades 9-12) with the proper tools to reach graduation and be successful into adulthood following high school graduation.
This program will run once a month from October until June and will focus on topics that are pertinent to successful independence such as finance, school success, and job hunting.
According to the Foundation of Foster Children, only 50% will graduate high school, 1 in 5 youth will become homeless after age 18, only half will be employed at age 24, and less than 3% will earn a college degree.
If you know any young adults in out-of-home care that would benefit from this monthly program, contact the group at 920-860-8122, or visit www.LakeshoreFosterFamilies.org.
