Those with the COVID-19 vaccine are now getting more paid time off in Outagamie County.
This change comes after the County Board approved the policy at a recent meeting, but it was heavily contested.
The measure passed on a 20-11 vote, and now those who are vaccinated get an extra two weeks of paid time off.
The reason for the new policy was linked to the amount of time it takes for someone to recover from the illness.
Unvaccinated workers will have to use their own PTO while vaccinated people will be able to use these additional PTO hours.
Some Board members disagreed with the decision, citing the fact that not receiving the vaccination is a personal choice.
They said that the unvaccinated people are being discriminated against.
