A Manitowoc woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole a firearm from her boyfriend.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on June 17th and during a search of the vehicle located a revolver, some ammunition, and some magazines for a .45 caliber handgun.
The items were determined to belong to the woman’s boyfriend, who told police that he did not realize they were missing and said the woman did not have permission to have them.
The 37-year-old woman initially told police that she didn’t know how the items got into her vehicle and gave police permission to search her phone.
Police did just that, and found a conversation with another man, where he told her to “grab that revolver n all clips”.
The Manitowoc Police Department was unable to locate the suspect until she was arrested yesterday (September 28th) on different charges.
When confronted with the conversation, the woman said she wanted an attorney.
The woman has been charged with Theft of a Firearm.
