A Manitowoc man who has had several run-ins with the law is once again in legal trouble.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Menasha Avenue at around 1:45 PM on Saturday (September 25th) on a report that a man was smashing someone’s TV. By the time police arrived, the 23-year-old man had already fled the scene.
The victim told police that she and the suspect were dealing with a different incident and that the suspect beat her back to her residence, which is when he began smashing two of her TVs.
He also reportedly struck the victim and pushed past her uncle while fleeing the scene.
The suspect was located a short time later and confirmed the victim’s story was true.
The suspect resisted as police attempted to take him into custody, including wrapping his legs around a tree. When other techniques failed to get the man to comply an officer pulled out his pepper spray, and sprayed the suspect in the face.
The suspect continued to struggle but was detained and brought to the Manitowoc County Jail.
He has been charged with Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct, each with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, Resisting Arrest, and two counts of Bail Jumping, one Felony, and one Misdemeanor.
