The Brewers have made it official by beating the New York Mets Sunday 8-4.
They are the National League Central Division champions for the second time in four years.
Shortstop Willy Adames drove in three runs, hitting his 24th homer, and Freddy Peralta claimed his 10th pitching victory.
Milwaukee had already clinched a spot in the postseason for the fourth year in a row.
The start of Sunday’s game was delayed for a half-hour while the team honored All-Star outfielder Ryan Braun after he announced his retirement.
Manager Craig Counsell’s squad takes Monday off, then plays on the road at St. Louis Tuesday. Brandon Woodruff is scheduled to be the starter.
