The City of Manitowoc is reminding homeowners to pay their special assessments to the city.
According to the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, special assessments are charges levied by local governments against real property to defray the costs of public work or improvements which benefit such property.
Those who don’t pay their special assessments by the November 1st due date are being informed by the City that they will automatically be transferred to the tax roll on that date.
Property Owners entitled to the installment payment plan will automatically be given the installment payment plan by the entry of installments plus interest on the tax roll.
Anyone with additional questions about assessments may call the City Clerk’s office at 920-686-6950.
