A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly slapped a child.
Officers responded to a call at a home in the 900 block of North 11th Street at around 10:30 PM Wednesday (September 22nd).
Officers spoke with the alleged victim, who said that the 48-year-old man, who is the father figure in the home, began yelling at them because the house wasn’t clean enough.
The man reportedly pushed the child and slapped them. When the child asked why he did it, the man reportedly replied, “I can do what I want.”
The mother of the child was home at the time but told officers that she was upstairs and did not see the incident but believes that the man did get physical with the child.
The suspect told police that he had just gotten home from work and admitted to getting upset at the state of the home but denied striking the child.
The man was taken into police custody and charged with Physical Abuse of a Child.
Also arrested was a 19-year-old man, who also was a child of the woman.
He reportedly got physical with the other suspect earlier in the day in response to the man getting physical with his sister.
He has been charged with Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence Enhancer and was placed on a Probation Hold.
