A state appeals court has come down on the city’s side in a legal challenge over its discipline of a Green Bay police officer.
Officer Andrew Weiss got in trouble for accessing information about two sexual assault investigations that he wasn’t involved with, then passing on that information to a person outside the department. He and the Green Bay Professional Police Association had appealed a decision by a court that upheld his discipline.
An arbitrator had determined there was cause for Weiss to be removed from his detective position and assigned to the patrol division.
