There is a benefit planned for this weekend to aid a local woman and her family.
According to the event page on Facebook, Maggie Burmeister was biking along the Mariners Trail on July 16th when she lost control of her bike, and hit her head on the concrete. This caused her to suffer a brain injury, a broken eye socket, and nose, and her lung collapsed.
Burmeister was aided on the scene by another couple who were also using the trail and is now recovering at a Green Bay Hospital. Her boyfriend also suffered a concussion.
The latest update said that Maggie is now able to walk around and has enjoyed some time outside in the sun.
The benefit to raise money to help cover medical expenses is scheduled to take place this Saturday (September 18th) at The Detour Bar and Grill in Mishicot. There will be a 50/50 raffle, a gun raffle, silent auctions, food, drinks, and entertainment, with donations being accepted.
