After nearly six years, a Green Bay man who was charged in a 2015 murder is now on trial.
34-year-old Antwon Powell is facing a charge of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide for the shooting death of David Shorter on December 3rd, 2015.
According to police reports, Shorter broke into Powell’s home, where he stole $400 and a quarter of a pound of marijuana and was shot later that night outside of his apartment complex in the 800 block of Bellevue Street.
It appeared as though Powell would be convicted, as he filed for an Alford Plea in 2019, which means that he would admit that there was enough evidence to convict him, but he would maintain his innocence, however, that plea was later withdrawn.
