There may be some new additions to the City of Sheboygan’s vehicle fleet after a few discussions this week.
The Finance and Personnel Committee gathered yesterday, and among the discussion points was the proposal to purchase a new diesel-powered paratransit bus, with a majority of the cost being covered by a grant from Shoreline Metro.
We have not heard word on if that was approved or not.
Also up for discussion this week is a proposal to buy seven new police vehicles.
That will go up for discussion on Wednesday during the Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety Committee, however even if the proposal is approved, there would likely be a delay in actually receiving the vehicles.
Much like many other industries, the Ford Motor Company already has a backlog of vehicle orders due to supply chain issues brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
If approved, the police vehicles would cost roughly $275,000.
