Beloit police report a 15-year-old suspect has been arrested in a fatal shooting on Labor Day.
Officers arrested the teenager at Beloit Memorial High School Monday. They say a firearm was found in his backpack.
He faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, possession of a firearm while under the age of 18, and possession of a firearm on school grounds.
Neither the suspect nor the 19-year-old victim have been identified by authorities.
It will be up to the Rock County District Attorney’s Office to decide if a waiver will be sought to prosecute the suspect in adult court.
