When Brewers left-hander Eric Lauer started throwing a slider he was able to take his performance to the next level.
Since he added it, he has an E-R-A of 1.85, and batters are hitting the new offering at a .140 pace.
Batters had been sitting on Lauer’s cutter – now, he doesn’t have to use it nearly as much.
When the Brewers return to action tonight (September 14th) after a day off, Freddy Peralta will take the mound in Detroit.
Lauer is next on the schedule to start next Sunday at home against the Cubs.
