Students wearing mask for protect corona virus or covid-19 and doing exam in classroom with stress.
Students are back in class, and many are being required to wear masks while doing so. However, the question arises, what would the punishment be if the student fails to follow the masking rules?
The Appleton Area School Board has answered that question in a memo.
Students are required to wear a mask in Appleton Schools, regardless of vaccination status, and students who fail to follow those guidelines will simply be asked to put one on and instructed on how to do so.
The second time they go maskless, the student will have to meet with an administrator, and if they continue to refuse to wear a mask, the school will contact their parents and could force them into an online learning model.
The Board also said that if visitors or parents refuse to wear masks, they would consider calling the police if the situation required it.
So far the district hasn’t had any major issues, and the Board will be reevaluating the masking policy down the road.
