Milwaukee Brewers field manager Craig Counsell says it simply, “It’s in our hands now.”
He’s talking about the fact his team has a 12-game lead in the standings with 21 games left in the season.
The Brewers’ magic number is 10, meaning any combination of Milwaukee wins or Cincinnati losses totaling 10 will clinch the National League Central Division title.
The Brewers play in Cleveland tonight (September 10th) while the Reds play three in St. Louis.
Adrian Houser, who pitched a complete-game shutout against St. Louis in his last outing, starts the first game of the Cleveland series. The first pitch is set for 6:10 p-m.
