
A 35-year-old Manitowoc man is being held in the County Jail on a federal detainer awaiting arraignment on multiple felony drug-related charges.
The United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Wisconsin alleges that Steven J. Khail knowingly and intentionally distributed Fentanyl-a schedule two controlled substance as a result of controlled purchases in Manitowoc County earlier this year.
Lieutenant Dave Remiker of the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit says investigators in early February seized various quantities of Fentanyl at various locations throughout Manitowoc while in mid-March Metro Drug and County Sheriff’s personnel conducted a traffic stop in the Village of Cleveland and seized 66 grams of Fentanyl and a quantity of Black Tar Heroin.
The indictment alleges that Khail knowingly and intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute 40 or more grams of fentanyl which carries a minimum and mandatory five years in prison up to a maximum sentence of 40 years.
