A Tuesday morning storm passing through northeastern Wisconsin pounded cars, homes, and other structures with hail some residents said was “the size of ping-pong balls.”
The strong storms also included high winds and heavy rain, hitting the New London area at about 8:30 a-m.
There were reports from Outagamie, Waupaca, and the southern portions of Brown County that the hail there was even bigger – maybe the size of softballs.
One baseball-sized hailstone reportedly broke a window northeast of Mackville, near Appleton.
Winds were strong enough to knock down trees in Door County.
