Manitowoc Police responded to a scene on Labor Day where a shirtless drunk man was causing a scene in public.
Officers arrived in the 400 block of North 7th Street at around 3:00 PM to find the shirtless man with a case of beer and several empty cans strewn about.
The man was barely able to stand, and told officers he lived in a nearby house. However, officers knew him from previous engagements and knew he lived elsewhere.
The 72-year-old man was placed under arrest, and none of his close family felt comfortable taking care of him. A neighbor also said that she saw him attempting to fix a fence that he may have broken while stumbling about.
He has been charged with Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
