22 local patriots gathered at Faith Church in Manitowoc yesterday, as they read the names of all 2,456 U.S. Servicemen and Women who died while serving in Afghanistan.
The event, which was live-streamed on the Seehafer News and Coolest Coast Manitowoc County Facebook pages, lasted around six and a half hours, with many of the readers fighting back emotions as they read the names of the fallen.
Some of the readers served with some of the people on the list, others were local, state, and federal dignitaries.
Our own Ryan Brahm, who organized the event, said “I cannot express my gratitude enough to the volunteers who helped read, Jason Prigge at Coolest Coast for live-streaming the event, and everyone at Faith Church for allowing me to use their space. Without all of you, there is no way we would have gotten through all 2,456 names. Thank you.”
