A chemical release in the town of Stettin has sent one person to a hospital for treatment.
Emergency responders arrived at Central Transport just after 5:30 PM Thursday. The area was cleared for about four hours.
Wausau Battalion Chief Kraig Kruzan said teams were sent in to analyze the chemical. A clean-up crew from Eau Claire arrived later to ensure the area was safe. Authorities haven’t identified the person who had to go to the hospital or reported the medical outcome.
The type of chemical that was released hasn’t been identified to the public, but the area was declared safe Thursday night.
