A central Wisconsin student was hit in a crosswalk Thursday after her first day of school.
The incident happened at an intersection in Rothschild.
While a car at that intersection was stopped, waiting for the light to change, two students thought they had enough time to make it across the road.
The driver started forward and hit one of the girls in the crosswalk.
No names have been released and the student wasn’t seriously injured.
Police say the driver remained on the scene and offered assistance to the victim.
