A quick check of 53-man N-F-L rosters after Tuesday’s cutdown day finds 22 Badgers still employed.
A half-dozen – led by T-J Watt – are on the Pittsburgh Steelers roster.
There are plenty of second chances for players with ability and that means at least three former Badgers have been named to practice squads.
Sitting just one strained hamstring or knee injury away from a chance to play are cornerback Rachad Wildgoose of the Buffalo Bills, offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen of the Green Bay Packers, and offensive lineman Beau Benzschawel of the Washington Football Team.
Wildgoose and Van Lanen are rookies, while Benzschawel would be entering his third professional season.
