U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin was in Manitowoc Friday morning, touring Broadwind Heavy Fabricators.
She said the facility that produces large structures and parts for renewable energy as part of their portfolio made quite an impression on her.
“You kind of imagine these things in your mind and then you see the scale that we’re talking about,” Baldwin told those in attendance. “The incredible craftsmanship that we’re talking about and you know that investment in our infrastructure and clean energy sector means jobs-jobs-jobs.”
Baldwin also touted the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, bipartisan legislation that makes a major investment in clean energy transmission and the creation of renewable energy jobs.
She said that “We know that is absolutely essential that we make a strong pivot towards renewable energies and I believe that Manitowoc will be in the center of that transition.”
This bill, yet to be passed in Congress, also includes Strong “Buy American” standards that Senator Baldwin pushed for to support Wisconsin workers-manufactures and businesses.
