A Manitowoc man is facing charges after police were called twice in a 10-hour span for a domestic violence situation.
The first incident occurred at 6:30 Wednesday evening, with officers responding to a family trouble incident in the 900 block of South 22nd Street.
The victim told officers that she and her 54-year-old boyfriend had gotten into an argument and that he had punched her.
The man refused to answer the door, and the woman said she didn’t want to press charges, so the officers left.
They returned at 4:30 yesterday morning (August 26th) after police were called again on a report that the man had assaulted the same woman.
The man was believed to be in possession of a weapon, and the woman was outside and believed to be safe.
The officers determined that it was not safe to enter the home, so the man has not been arrested.
Charges of Substantial Battery and Disorderly Conduct, each with Domestic Violence Enhancers, have been referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
