A tweet from Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steinke makes a lawsuit against the U-W System look unlikely.
Earlier this week, the co-chair of the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules, Senator Steve Nass, said he would ask legislative leaders to start legal action if the system failed to submit its COVID-19 protocols for his committee’s review by September 2nd.
Interim U-W System President Tommy Thompson made it clear that wasn’t going to happen.
Steinke tweeted Thursday that, “a lawsuit from the Legislature would only add more confusion during an already stressful time.”
He said lawmakers will continue to monitor decisions made by the U-W System and would be ready to respond if warranted.
